"What if the Males Avengers posed like the Female one?"

I bet most of you ran to the theatres this past week in order to see the last Marvel movie, Avengers.
If you haven't, you should go now! It's an excellent film, but maybe I'm a tiny bit biased towards it - after all, I'm a sucker for Marvel movies and super-heroes.

But we're not really here to talk about Captain America's abs, or how these amazing fight scenes that left the entire crowd breathless were followed by funny moments just at the right times, or how incredible Scarlett Johansson was in this.

Everything is in the title, really.

You've probably all seen the promotional movie posters before, but have you realized that while all the Male Avengers are shown as aggressive and threatening, Black Widow, the only Female character of the group, is represented not as a direct offensive threat... But as a character taking a pose that's closer to a "Look at how sexy I am." attitude than the "I'm going to beat the crap out of you" that would be more relevant to her character.

A talented artist, Kevin Bolks, decided to mess with this version and reverse it a little bit, making us all realize what the Marvel producers and marketing team tried to non-so-subtly insert in this poster.

I could give you the lifelong speech about "Women's representation in the media" and whatsoever, but I bet you already know what I have to say about it.

So instead, I'll let the images speak for themselves:

Kevin Bolk's version.

See what I'm talking about? Yeah. I'll leave you with that and let you think about it for a little while.
