Glee, Season 3 starts in 10 days!

Today is Saturday the 10th of September...
Which can only mean one thing. Glee's season 3 will start in only ten days!

For those of you who haven't watched television during the last 2 years, Glee is the musical TV Show, the worldwide phenomenon telling the story of discriminated students in a Glee Club, the New Directions.
The action takes place in Lima, Ohio. McKinley high school's students, as in any other high school of the country, are separated into different categories: the popular people, the cheerleaders, the football players, the geeks, the losers,...

With a lot of humor and sarcasm, Glee shows the typical American society, segmented, stereotyped, and full of taboos.
Each character is the representation of one of a stereotype, a category of people discriminated or not; the kid in a wheelchair, the Afro-American girl with a voice comparable to Tina Turner's, the gay boy, the Asian couple, the Latina, the seemingly dumb blonde girl, the beautiful cheerleader, the captain of the football team,...

The series play with these stereotypes, in order to broadcast a message; prejudices are stupid, because in the end, we are all different, and nobody can be perfect. The Celibacy Club's president can be pregnant at 15, the kid in a wheelchair can dance as well as the others, and the girl who constantly makes fun of the gay boy can be deeply in love with her best girl friend.

The directors talk about taboo topics in the USA, such as teenage pregnancy, violence in school, or the lack of prevention and information against the STDs.
Because of this honesty and this courage in talking about the things the government would like to forget about, the series meets a great success in the USA and in the entire world. The conservative personalities criticize it a lot, whereas the journalists and cinema professionals praise it; in only two years, Glee has won many Awards, as much for its storylines as for its authors' and actors' work.

But the series is not only well-known because of its hilarious portrait of the American society. It's also and above all famous for its music, which rhythm the series with about 4 or 5 songs per episode.

With very famous covers such as Journey's Don’t Stop Believing, Madonna's Like A Prayer or even more recent songs such as Lady Gaga's Born This Way, the series recently started writing some originals songs, such as Loser Like Me, Light Up The World, or the hilarious Trouty Mouth.

So what's in store for this season 3?
(Be Careful, Spoilers !)

First, the thing that shocks when we watch the promo (even if we only see her like half a second), is Quinn's new look. The pretty blonde Cheerleader from the first season has been replaced by a punk girl with short... Pink hair. At the end of season 2, we had left a lost Quinn, who hated herself and just wanted "Somebody to love her". We meet her again with this new attitude, and a confident expression that destabilize us; what happened to her during the summer?

Finn and Rachel are still together, just like Mike and Tina, and Kurt and Blaine.
We've even heard about a possible comeback of the couple Puck/Quinn, with Beth's comeback. Do you remember her? Their daughter they had given for adoption at the end of season 1, and that we never heard of during season 2 - apart from some snarky comments from Santana.

Talking about Santana, the summer seems not to have changed anything in her and Brittany's relationship, and they seem to have come back to season one's dynamic: always together, but not really together. They're back in the Cheerios, and Santana is now the Squad Captain, along with another person whose identity hasn't been revealed yet. Could it be Becky?

Chord Overstreet, who used to play Sam, leaves the show; but Mercedes won't stay single for a long time, because a new character, Marcus, will soon be introduced as her boyfriend she met during the summer.
In the first episode, we will see a huge food fight, as well as an awesome comeback of the Sue Sylvester we all love to hate; this latter wants to be part of the National Council, in order to destroy not only the New Directions... But also all the other Glee Clubs!
Lea Michele's (Rachel), Naya Rivera's (Santana), and Dianna Agron's (Quinn) Twitters also indicate that the three actresses shot a scene with Heather Morris (Brittany), as well as 500 other girls!

Season 3 is supposed to be a real "comeback to the origins": the directors want it to deal more with the original cast than on the guest stars.

Can't wait to see what it's gonna look like?
C.
